Laptop Screen Replacement

Available
£49.991.5h
A cracked, flickering, or completely failed laptop screen does not have to mean the end of your device. We source quality replacement panels matched to your exact make and model, and fit them professionally. The listed price covers labour — the final price includes the replacement panel, which varies depending on your specific model.
How It Works
  1. Assessment & Part Identification. We identify the exact replacement panel required for your model — matched by size, resolution, connector type, and display technology (IPS, TN, or OLED where available). We confirm part availability and provide a full quote covering both labour and panel before any work begins.
  2. Safe Disassembly. The laptop lid bezel is removed using purpose-made tools to avoid cracking plastic clips or damaging adhesive strips. Screw positions and cable routing are noted to ensure correct reassembly.
  3. Old Panel Removal. The faulty display panel is disconnected from the display cable and removed from its mounting brackets. Where the screen is physically cracked, we safely contain any liquid crystal material.
  4. New Panel Fitting. The replacement panel is connected, seated in the mounting brackets, and secured using screws or adhesive — matching the original manufacturing method for your model.
  5. Pre-Assembly Testing. Before the bezel is replaced, the new panel is powered on and checked for dead pixels, backlight uniformity, and colour accuracy using a full-screen test pattern. On touch-enabled models, the digitiser is tested for full touch responsiveness across the entire display area.
  6. Full Reassembly & Final Function Test. The bezel and lid are reassembled, and the laptop undergoes a final check confirming Wi-Fi, keyboard, webcam, and all other components were not disturbed during the repair.
Frequently Asked Questions

How is the final price calculated?

The listed price covers labour. The replacement panel is additional and varies by model — panels for common laptops are typically inexpensive, while those for premium or less common models can be higher. We confirm the full price (labour and panel) before beginning any work, so there are no surprises.

My screen flickers or goes black intermittently — is that a screen fault?

Not necessarily. Flickering and intermittent black screens are often caused by a failing display cable rather than the panel itself. We diagnose the root cause before replacing any parts — a cable fault is often cheaper to fix than a full panel replacement.

Will the replacement screen look exactly like the original?

We match panels to the original specification — size, resolution, and display technology. Minor variance in colour temperature between panel manufacturers is possible, but the specification will be identical. Where available, we source panels from the same manufacturer and grade as the original.

Will I lose any data?

No. Screen replacement involves only the display assembly — your storage, operating system, and files are completely unaffected.

Can I use my laptop with an external monitor while waiting for the repair?

If the graphics hardware and display output are intact (i.e. only the panel itself is faulty), the laptop can often be used with an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C while awaiting repair.

Do you replace screens on MacBooks?

Yes. MacBook screen repairs are more involved due to Apple's construction methods, and panel availability varies by model. Please contact us before booking a MacBook screen repair and we will confirm the timeline and quote.

Does the replacement carry a warranty?

Yes. The replacement panel carries a 90-day warranty covering manufacturing defects — such as dead pixels appearing after fitting or backlight failure. This does not cover physical damage such as cracking the new screen after collection.

Why Choose a Professional Service?

Screen replacement looks straightforward until something goes wrong. Common issues with amateur replacements include:

  • Cracked bezel clips from using incorrect pry tools — leaving a panel that cannot be refitted securely
  • Display cable damage during removal — turning a screen fault into a more expensive motherboard-level repair
  • Ordering the wrong panel: incorrect resolution or connector pin count
  • Skipping the dead-pixel check before reassembly — requiring a second full disassembly if the replacement panel is faulty on arrival

We test every replacement panel before closing the lid. If a new panel arrives faulty, you are not charged a second labour session to swap it.
